TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY!!

THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO THE DOCTOR WHO WROTE THIS LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA!
Pictured is a young physician by the name of Dr. Roger Starner Jones. His short two-paragraph letter to the White House accurately puts the blame on a "Culture Crisis" instead of a "Health Care Crisis"..

It's worth a quick read:

Dear Mr. President:
During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone.

While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status was listed as "Medicaid"! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one pack of cigarettes every day, eats only at fast-food take-outs, and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer. And, you and our Congress expect me to pay for this woman's health care? I contend that our nation's "health care crisis" is not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. Rather, it is the result of a "crisis of culture" a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me". Once you fix this "culture crisis" that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you'll be amazed at how quickly our nation's health care difficulties will disappear.

Respectfully,
ROGER STARNER JONES, MD
If you agree...pass it on.

WOW! is all I can say after reading this on Facebook as a pass it along message. First off let me say that it is so obvious that this doctor has a problem with the idea of assisting poor people with medical insurance. The points he make is valid but the problem that I have with this letter is that he has excluded other ethnic groups like the Mexicans, or the Vietnamese who are lined up getting thousand of dollars in Food Stamps which our tax money pays for but a person has to eat (correct)! I am not speaking of what was told to me but that which I have witnessed while working as a CSR in a Food store. There are many people in all ethnic groups who ride around in these pimped out cars, also walking into hospitals with Medicaid cards. It bothers me when a person only choose a certain group of people to make their point! While in essence many ethnic groups are a strain on the United States in more ways than one. I assume he is bias to the African American race and I'm certain other races have walked into his emergency room with tattoos before heading to their BMW's or Mercedes Benz because I have seen them pay for groceries with Food Stamps and then get into these 50,000 SUV's and other expensive cars. Or the Asian community who comes into the store buying food in bulks for their restaurants or stores with a Food Stamp card!!

So always remember there are two-sides to every story.

The New Age Assassination of the Celebrities!!

Today proved to be a very trying day for me, first it started out with the news of T.I. and his wife Tameka( Tiny) who was once with the group Xscape and their drug bust. Where does common sense come in where T.I. is concerned? Grammy Award winning rapper just had a movie "Taken" come out and recently married. Did he feel that now he was on top of the world that he was above the law?

Some may ask "Who's Law" well I will let you decide
. I say this because even though he was released after the gun charges he didn't have the common sense to think about the outcome of his actions. I would be the first to admit that in my younger days I made mistakes and did things that others may just SMDH at but after getting older and wiser I realized that a change was needed.

T.I. and Tiny should have realized that while in Hollywood, not to mention the same place where Paris Hilton had been arrested a week earlier and charged with drug possession. That the laws were still out there waiting on someone , anyone who was of a celebrity status and they actually got a two for one because they also just happened to be "Black". Some would like to think that this was a race thing but in actuality it was a simple case of being " Plain Stupid".

T.I. Just for future references bring a bottle of Febreze with you to mask the odor of marijuana if you want to smoke and drive or some kind of spray to mask the odor. You were already on probation and now you have your wife with an arrest record with 5 kids at home to tend to....

Now I know some people who are saying, "Girl you're being to hard on them" well maybe I am but it just makes sense to me that you leave your partying drugs at home when you go out into the streets! Esctasy, and Marijuana....not a good look!

So is this the New Age Assassination of Celebrities? Maybe so...... They killed Tupac and Biggie and left a mess maybe they figured let's just lock them all up!

Maybe there were others who set T.I. up ...if he is locked up he can make anymore music and maybe just maybe they can get a bigger spot under the Lights...

Rapper T.I., wife arrested on drug charges

I guess you can say...They Vowed for Better or for Worst!!!

Tiny and T.I. Arrested in California!! SMDH...

LOS ANGELES – Grammy-winning rapper T.I., who is still on probation after spending time behind bars on gun charges, was arrested along with his wife on drug charges after police smelled alleged marijuana coming from their car, authorities said.
The Wednesday night arrests for possession of a controlled substance occurred in West Hollywood during a traffic stop, Los Angeles sheriff's deputy Mark Pope told The Associated Press.
"Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle," the department said. "A narcotics investigation ensued" that resulted in the arrests.
The department's media office said it didn't yet have details on which specific drug the possession charge concerned.
The arrests reflect that last week of socialite Paris Hilton, whose is being investigated for felony cocaine possession after a motorcycle officer smelled pot wafting from her car.
The Atlanta-based T.I., 29, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., and Cottle, a 36-year-old singer who sang with the 1990s group Xscape and has recently been the star of the BET reality series "The Tiny & Toya Show," were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff's station. Bail was set at $10,000 each.
Pope said Thursday that he didn't know if they were still being held.
T.I.'s publicist declined to comment.
T.I., the multiplatinum hitmaker who has a key role in the current top box office movie "Takers," served seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months in a Georgia halfway house on federal weapons charges and was released in March. He is on three years' probation.
Since that case, T.I., who had spent time behind bars for drug offenses before, vowed to live a better life. He spoke to kids about the dangers of drugs and guns, and former United Nations Ambassador Andrew Young was one of his supporters. As he prepared for his most recent sentence, he starred in the MTV reality show "T.I.'s Road to Redemption: 45 Days to Go."
The father of five married Cottle in late July. "Takers," a shoot 'em up about an armored truck robbery that goes bad, was released last week and topped the box-office chart.
In a recent interview with The Associated Press, T.I. talked about living a more positive life.
"Right now, it's all about moving forward and just acknowledging the blessing that are here today. ... Just moving past the regrets of yesterday — the things that could've been done better," T.I. said in a July interview.
T.I., who is known as the "King of the South," has emerged one of music's most profitable stars over the last few years. He is working on a new album, "King Uncaged," which may be released this year.

Just a Thought!!

As you all may or may not know I am a Facebook junkie but one of my friends brought this thought to mind. Buffonery ( not sure if this is a word)in the African-American Community. While I can appreciate Tyler Perry and his success his plays and movies are not my reality and Spike Lee with his movies maybe that is his reality of Brooklyn New York but again it is not mine! Now to stop casting African-Americans is such a dire light I am on a mission.

We need a more positive look into the African- American lives, something that shows our reality and not that of a grandmother running around with a gun shooting at people nor is it a group of friends sitting around puff-puff-pass...

We are struggling people and thanks to the economy other races have been included. We are humble yet strong individuals who can take 50.00 to the store and make more than ten meals to feed our family. We ARE SPIRITUAL people who speak to our ancestors on a daily!

We are the thread that has and continue to hold this country together!

So lets depict more of a reality where African-Americans are concerned!

The Pleasure was all Mine...

I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with both Kandi Burruss and Rasheeda on May 8,2010 at Tobin's Lounge for Splash weekend and when I say these girls tore the roof off of that Place, they did just! They were very accessible and accommodating for all those who desired to have their pictures taken with them! Of course my batteries went dead in my camera but never the less I enjoyed them tremendously!!
